eType Review
eType is a UK-based ad network that specializes in premium website representation and is one of over a hundred such programs we review on experienced-people.co.uk. eType works with contextual advertisements and their inventory includes many high-paying CPC and CPM offers. The downside of their focus on premium ads and websites is that their ad inventory is somewhat limited and noticeably restricted to only certain consumer-based niches. The network operates a separate website and uses a complementary ad inventory for US customers along with a focused sales team for US markets. eType supports an impressive array of different ad types including typical banners and text links, expandable banners and video boxes, overlay ads, pop-unders and several different video ad types. Virtually all IAB-approved sizes and formats are approved and the network offers extra customization power and tailor-made creatives on request; great options and variety here! Their ad formats page is great and really comprehensive but unfortunately little else is useful in their official website(s) which fails to explain even the most essential details publishers seek in order to decide whether to join an ad network or not. Payment details are not divulged and publishers need to directly contact eType in order to receive individual proposals based on the quality of their website portfolio and their general requirements. Even though eType only accepts high-quality (premium) publishers their quality standards are not specifically mentioned anywhere throughout the network's documentation and publishers have to contact eType directly (again) to find out if their websites are "premium" enough or not. Support is decent but seems more focused on the advertising rather than the publishing aspect of the network's operations and the same holds true for all the information provided through their websites. All in all, the big plus of eType is undeniably their wide variety of ad creatives and the extensive customization options they provide. Everything else seems average and publishers will need to jump through several hoops in order to find out what kind of CPC and CPM rates they should expect if they join the network and whether they meet eType's rigorous (but otherwise unspecified) quality standards.
