Blogads Review
Launched in 2002, Blogads is an ad network specializing in blog advertising and is one of over a hundred such programs we review on experienced-people.co.uk. Blogads supports 10 different ad sizes that are all available in either jpeg/gif or flash; nothing extraordinary there. Their ads are tailor-made for blogs so they go well alongside what blogs usually feature in the main body of their pages. Although not a self-service ad network, Blogads does have many features commonly found in ads brokers. All Blogads ads pay either per-click (CPC) or per thousand impressions (CPM) commissions, much like most other ad networks, but CPC/CPM prices are set by the publishers themselves. It is hard to judge the network's inventory as offers vary a lot from publisher to publisher and while some might be offered more ads than they could possibly display others will experience very low fill rates. Publishers have full control over which ads are shown on their websites which gives them a lot of freedom but comes with a considerable workload in order to effectively weed out potentially unwanted ads. Being a blog-friendly ad network does not mean Blogads is open to beginner publishers. Blogads have minimum traffic requirements that range from 30.000 to 500.000 monthly impressions (depending on niche) before they start attracting advertiser interest. Blogads support is very good and reachable through multiple different media. Even though a lot of the implementation must be done by the publisher, the network's sales team specialists are readily available to help if needed. All in all, Blogads seems like a more robust version of your typical ad exchanges with some extra bonuses thrown in. It can undeniably be lucrative for publishers with popular blogs but popular blogs can be lucrative with most monetization methods!
