1. I don't know if you're aware but you can now change in background colour in
Chitika ads. If you give the ad a green background and blend it into the page it
may get more clicks.
2. You have a set of four keywords but you use the exact same keywords on all
the pages of your site. As you site is a directory with subjects ranging from
Music to Mobiles spending some time picking out relevant keywords/products for
each section will likely give you a higher clickthrough rate.
3. For help with choosing keywords/products please see
this page. We'll be adding to it in due course.
4. Sizes and formats. I'd try a few different sizes/formats/locations. At
present you have only one 728x90 Chitika ad at the bottom of the page.If you
made that into a 468x60 and posted it at the top of the page under your "Submit
Link" and added a left or right floated 250x250 within the main body of text
you'd have two ads on each page and it wouldn't look too pushy. You'd be
devoting an additional 25% of real estate but getting about 125% more clicks
(guesstimate)
5. The only ad your site seems to be serving it a Computer Associates eTrust
Intrusion Detection software. I don't believe it will get many clicks in your
travel, cooking and art studio pages, for example. If you are using an SSI and
therefore have the same Chitika code across all pages of the site I'd remove the
current keywords and let Chitika serve contextual ads.
6. In 800x600 resolution and below there are no ads above the fold. A lot of
people will not be seeing any ads on your site.
7. If you spend some time on our site, particularly the
tips page
I believe you could make a lot more with money than you are now.
Hope that helps.
